Bradford on Avon is always a 'real hit' with tourists! This town has real olde worlde
charm and a visit is a must!
The town straddles the River Avon and part of the town is built into the steep hillside. The river brought
great prosperity to the town with the use of water power for the old mills. The buildings reflect the tradition of weavers
and wealthy industrialists.
There are some lovely walks along the river with the Tithe Barn to see and also the river bridge has a chapel
built on it. This was eventually used as a lock up to let the drunks sober up! Perhaps more should be built in these modern
times.
