Malmesbury is England's oldest borough. It is famous for its Abbey however only part of
it now remains. In the year 1000 A.D. the monk Eilmer tried to be the first man to fly and leaped from the Abbey tower.
It is said that he travelled more than a furlong but broke both his legs!
The town contains a fine range of historic buildings and well worth a visit.
