Trowbridge is the county town of Wiltshire and is home to County Hall the headquarters
of Wiltshire County Council. The town has grown in recent years with many new homes being built.
The town grew as a Woollen town but that industry finally ceased in the 1980's with the closure of
the last mill. There is a museum (access in The Shires Shopping Centre) which traces the history of Trowbridge and has working
woollen mill machines. The museum is housed in an old mill.
Industry in the area is now varied from Airsprung Beds to Virgin Mobile.
